Training and Awareness Workshops

City Environmental Services (CES) offers a range of training options for those whose work activities might involve the disturbance of materials containing asbestos.

Under the terms of the Code of Conduct for the Asbestos Training Providers Working Group, CES provides basic Asbestos Awareness training and also training for workers who could disturb non-licensable asbestos materials (known as level 2 training). These workshops are run in collaboration with South Wales Safety Consultancy, based in Cardiff.

These are set out in detail in the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2006 and the Approved Code of Practice (ACOP) L143.

Our training courses have been independently audited and approved for compliance with the Code of Practice. As a result, CES is a member of the United Kingdom Asbestos Training Association (UKATA).

UKATA works alongside the Health and Safety Executive's Asbestos Licensing Unit, aiming towards establishing the highest possible industry training standards.

CES can provide Asbestos Awareness training at your own premises or at our training facility in Newport.

Level 2 training is also available in Newport at a convenient site only a few minutes from the M4 motorway.
